I find the snooze button super effective in Gmail where I set a time after a busy period for it to pop back into my inbox as a fresh email. I do that with your newsletter and other work related stuff because for my ADD brain "out of sight, out of mind" lol
This was lovely. I (and I'm sure others) so appreciate you taking the time to answer specific questions and address topics. Despite how terrible you claim to be at responses, its clear by the time you took with this how much you care about this community. Thank you! PS. Desperate to know your system for organizing emails lol
I do care so much! With email lately I've gotten into deleting so much more than I used to and just having one folder per project - I used to break it up into multiple subfolders. I do keep ALL my sent messages and find that anytime I need an answer to something, I can find the email there.
Good question! I think it's helpful overall, not just for a specific film. I don't think you have to put all your energy into it, but for example when I'm considering working with a filmmaker who is unfamiliar to me, it's helpful to be able to go to a website and/or Instagram and get a sense of their work and style and career goals. And Instagram helps me figure out if maybe we have friends in common who can vouch for you. And obviously, it's a place for you to build your own audience and market your film directly.

Love that your growing readership is expanding!
I find the snooze button very effective in the morning ;)
I have hundreds of emails in my inbox that I have flagged to read or respond to, but I ALWAYS keep up with yours. Thanks for all of it!!!
I appreciate and relate to this so much.
Inbox zero. Congrats!
Hope we can work together some day. I also am having difficulty responding to my emails. Just reading all of them is a challenge.

Curious to hear how important you think today a filmmaker’s personal branding is for marketing their film.

Sounds like it’s been a frustrating few weeks. :)
Not at all! Just trying to keep up with everyone.
